Daycare description / philosophy

Our goal at Marina Bay Academy is to prepare children for the next stage of their lives through the development of motor abilities, thinking skills and healthy interactions with their peers. We understand that children learn in different ways and at different paces. This is why we personalize our educational approach to suit each child by a team of trained educators who are passionate about their role as Early Childhood professionals and respectful of the diversity families. Our programs are appropriate to the age group and take into consideration the individual needs of children within group. We encourage active learning, creativity, multiculturalism independence, and self-confidence, through positive interactions between, children, staff, parents, and the community. Marina Bay Academy’s Philosophy At Marina Bay Academy, our guiding philosophy is to nurture the uniqueness of each child while respecting their individual, cultural, and family background. We do this through positive interactions with our students, their families, and our team. We show evidence of this through our education programs/curriculums. They are made up of following areas: Social, Art/Sensory, Language/Literature, Gross/Fine motor, imagination/creativity, Cognition and Science/Math. The curriculum has been developed based on three proven methods of learning: Montessori, High Scope and Emergent. Montessori: Montessori focuses on independence and freedom within limits. Educators guide, observe, and support each child. The child through curiosity, stability and the freedom to choose. Balancing freedom and discipline results in large capacity for self-direction. High scope: High scope curriculum features active learning at its core. Children are guided to explore and interact their creative imaginations through purposeful play. Educators support and extend each child’s learning based on their developmental levels. Emergent: Emergent is a curriculum based on the child interests and passion. Educators use of observations of children throughout their day as a tool for constructing curriculum content. Marina Bay Academy seeks to establish a supportive learning environment that bridges the connection between each child’s home, the center, and the wider community to provide a complete early childhood education and care programs. We are a committed and professional team of educators who welcome all families and children to our services. We aim to make each child’s experience at our service fun, educational and safe environment. Through our programs/curriculums children develop and enhance their skills, giving them a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
